1 - GENERAL INFORMATION

 

The Municipality of Oleggio organizes the third edition of the International Piano Competition "Città di Oleggio", open to pianists of all nationalities.  Due to the protracted health emergency caused by the COVID-19, the 2021 edition will be ONLINE. The competition is divided into three Categories and the Piano Award.

 

-Category A from 10 to 13 years

 -Category B from 14 to 17 years

 -Category C from 18 to 25 years - "CITTA’ DI OLEGGIO PIANO AWARD" up to the age of 36.

2 - COMPETITION SCHEDULE

 

- May 8th 2021: Application deadline

 - May 20th 2021: Announcement of the 6 finalists of the “Città di Oleggio Piano Award” - May 28th : Announcement of the results

 

 

 For disputes concerning the interpetation and execution of this competition, Italian law is applied and the Judicial Authority of Novara is competent. By appyling the participants agree to all terms and conditions.

3 - REPERTOIRE CATEGORIES

 

CAT.A: free choice max.10 min

CAT.B: free choice max. 15 min

 CAT.C: free choice max. 20 min

4- REPERTOIRE : CITTA’ DI OLEGGIO PIANO AWARD

 

1st Round max.20 min

-one technical etude of : Chopin, Liszt, Scriabine, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Debussy, Ligeti, Bartok.

- One or more works of free choice

 

Final Round max.45 min.  

 

-Free choice including a sonata of Clementi, Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven

The whole repertoire must be played by memory. It’s not possible to repeat any of the pieces of the 1st round for the Final.

 

 

5 - PRIZES

 

 -CATEGORY A: First Prize: Diploma and Scholarship of 250,00 € Second and third prizes: diploma.

- CATEGORY B: First Prize: Diploma and Scholarship of 500,00 € Second and third prizes: diploma.

 

-CATEGORY C: First Prize: diploma and scholarship of 750,00 € Second and third prizes: diploma.

 

 City of Oleggio Piano Award:

First Prize: diploma and scholarship of 2.500,00€.

Second Prize: diploma and scholarship of 1000,00 €

Third Prize: diploma and scholarship of 500€

 

The “Amici delle Musica di Oleggio” will invite , at their discretion, one of the 6 finalists to hold a Concert in the 2022 season with a reimbursement of expenses equal to 500,00 €.

The finalist who has totaled the most views of the video on the Youtube channel of the Competition, will receive the Virtual Audience Prize, consisting of 500,00 €.

 The musical association “Kreisleriana” of Milan will assign a concert to the winner of “City of Oleggio Piano Award” with a reimbursement of expenses equal to 300,00 €

 

 M° Mario Coppola will assign the Sergio Fiorentino Special Award, consisting of 500,00 €, offered by prof. E. Lumpe and by Professor Alessandra Aina to one of the participants, who will performed a transcription of Sergio Fiorentino of his choice between : - Fauré-Fiorentino, "Après un reve" - Rachmaninov-Fiorentino, "Vocalise" - Schumann-Fiorentino, "Die Lotosblume"

 

6 – APPLICATIONS

 

 For participation in the Competition, the following documents are required :

- Copy of an identification document or Passport

 - Complete application form with program choice

 - A high-resolution artistic Photo

 - Curriculum vitae

- Receipt of the payment of the registration fee

- Video recording files (for the “City of Oleggio Piano Award two separate files of the individual rounds)

 

 VIDEO RECORDING REGULATION

 

- Upload the video recording via link, using We-Transfer, Drive or your Youtube channel in unlisted

 - It is allowed to record separate complete pieces, they can also be of different dates. Video recordings, which are edited or processed within complete pieces, will not be accepted to participate.

- Only video recordings on grand pianos or vertical pianos are allowed. - Video recording must be done between 2019 and 2021.

 - The Camera view must show the participant's face and hands throughout the entire performance.

 

 

 7 - REGISTRATION FEES

 

- CAT A: 50,00 €-

- CAT B: 60,00 €

-CAT C: 70,00 €

CITY OF OLEGGIO PIANO AWARD : 100,00€

Any incomplete applications will not be considered.

 All documents useful for registration can be downloaded from the website of the Municipality of Oleggio.

 

8 - Diritti d’autore

 

 The candidate, pursuant to art. 97 of the law in the field of copyright, authorizes, by signing up for the competition, the association to record and broadcast on Youtube channels, Facebook pages, websites in general the executions, even partial, of the various phases of the competition, as well as posting photos on any media platform , dèpliant or specialized magazines. Candidates will not be able to make any financial requests or have any right towards the Council of Oleggio.

 

9 - PRIVACY

 

The personal information submitted at the registration, will be treated in pursuant to Art.10 of the personal data protection law n.675/96. The organization of the City of Oleggio Award excludes any other use of the above information.
